Will any team want him though? And better yet, should any team want him? He can still score the basketball, that much is clear from his second stint in Philly. What's not clear is whether his ego will allow him to fully embrace a backup role. Iverson is a roll of the die for any team.
Personally, I think it would be only fitting for Iverson to end his career as a 76er. The emotion he showed when he returned to the sixers was genuine... this guy just wants to play basketball and be loved.

Should they? Sure, why not? Sign him to a short-term contract on the cheap and what's really the risk?
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest, though: the primary argument in favor of it would be as a marketing draw more than anything else. The number of ankles he can or cannot still break is secondary to the publicity that signing AI would generate in a league that's seemingly careening toward extinction like dinosaurs, film cameras and compassionate conservativism.
For now, though, it's all largely academic. Maybe The Answer will find The Question in Italy.
Well I don't think the Sixers will give him another chance, or any team for that matter. At this point it's more than a long shot for A.I., and like you said, maybe he can finish his career overseas.
